Hunting deity with a dog. Sculpture which is a mixture of a British hunter-god, the Roman god Apollo, and an eastern saviour-god. The worship of deities from Asia and Egypt was introduced to the west under the Roman Empire, and amalgamated with indigenous British gods. This example is from Southwark in London.
