Légende
Crucifixion on the gatehouse, Cleeve Abbey, Somerset, 1999. Cleeve Abbey was founded as a Cistercian monastery in 1198. Many of the surviving buildings date from the 13th century, including the gatehouse. This latter was remodelled by Abbot Dovell in the early 16th century: a panel bears his name, and the crucifixion is of this date.
