The Hermannsdenkmal is wearing the jersey of the DSC Arminia Bielefeld soccer club. It was dressed by the Bielefeld company Schüco, the main sponsor of the professional footballers, on the occasion of their promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. The landmark is 386 meters high. The monument is intended to commemorate the Cheruscan prince Arminius and the so-called Battle of the Teutoburg Forest.
