US troop transport arrives in Berlin after trip through Soviet zone

The American townmajor of Berlin, James H. Polk (r), welcoming the US Lieutenant Colonel Earl K. Buchan (l) after his arrival in Berlin on 7th October 1963. Buchan and his convoy, coming from the FGR, had to drive through the Soviet zone to relieve the US troops already stationed in Berlin. The journey proceeded without any problems.
