High line manoeuvre during NATO exercise in North Sea

US destroyer USS McCloy DE-1038 and Dutch destroyer Zeeland D-809 (our picture) carry out a high line manoeuvre in March 1968 during the NATO exercise Matchmaker III in the North Sea.
Crew and material are exchanged in deep sea during a high line manoeuvre.
A joint maritime task force was tested under the name "Matchmaker" by the NATO from 1965 to 1967.
Troops from the Netherlands, the USA, Great Britain and Germany did participate.
The "Standing Naval Force Atlantic" (SNFL) emerged from "Matchmaker", which was an precursor of the "Standing NATO Maritime Group 1" (SNMG 1).
