German terrorists raided the German embassy, shot military attaché Andreas von Mirbach and took twelve members of the embassy as hostages to force the liberation of 26 members of the Baader-Meinhof group. Since the demand was not fulfilled, they furthermore shot economic expert Heinz Hillegaard and explosive charges detonated. All terrorists were arrested, amongst them Karl Heinz Dellwo, Lutz Taufer, Bernhard Roessner and Hanna Krabbe, who received twice lifelong imprisonment in Düsseldorf in 1977.
