After a lawsuit, which took almost 15 months, the Frankfurt jury court has sentenced the former SS Obersturmbannführer Hermann Krumey from Korbach/Hesse to life imprisonment for murder and unlawful detention, on Friday (29th August 1969). Former SS Hauptsturmbannführer Otto Hunsche from Datteln/Westphalia was sentenced to 12 years jail for aiding and abetting murder and unlawful detention. The jury court declared both defendants for guilty in the involvement in the deportation and murder of at least 300000 Hungarian Jews, who were transportet to the extermination camp Auschwitz and were gassed there in spring and summer 1944.
