Jimmy Winston had made his name as the original keyboard player in the Small Faces. He had played on the first single What'Cha Gonna Do About It as well as on a number of tracks on the debut album. He was fired from the band after the first single. He then formed a band called Jimmy Winston & the Reflections that released one single. By 1967 this band was Winston's Fumbs. The one single released by the band in July 1967 became a freakbeat classic. Jimmy Winston had now switched to guitar from keyboards. However, the single Real Crazy Apartment also features some wild Hammond organ playing. The group did not last beyond the first single. Winston later appeared in the cast of Hair on the London stage and has been in a number of acting role. Tony Kaye was later a member of Yes.
