Emperor Wilhelm II. baptises the "Nord-Ostsee Canal" as "Kaiser-Wilhelm-Canals", named after his grandfather on the 21st of June in 1895 during the three-day festivities from the 20th to the 22nd of June in 1895on the occasion of the opening of the Kaiser-Wilhelm Canal (today Nord-Ostsee Canal, also known as Kiel Canal).
