Undated picture of German general and politician Kurt von Schleicher. Kurt von Schleicher was born on the 7th of April in 1882 in Brandenburg/Havel. He vainly tried to form a socio-political coalition of interests consisting of unions, Centrum, a part of the NSDAP and Gregor Strasser and other groups. The talks with all parties were totally isolated, especially as his own intrigues had made him unreliable. He stepped back on the 28th of January in 1933. He was killed during the Röhm-Putsch on the 30th of June in 1934, also called the "Night of the Long Knives", where Nazis carried out a series of political murders.
