Propaganda text of the National Socialist reporting on the back side of the picture: 'Snipers. The scattered Bolshevists have concealed for days, forcing farmers to give the civil clothing and suddenly appearing as harmless civilians.' Motive from the Soviet Union (exact place unknown) on 31st July 1941. With Operation Barbarossa the German invasion of the Soviet Union has started on 22nd June 1941. The systematic killing of the Jewish population has begun with the capture of the Baltic countries, White Russia and the Ukraine. First the German Wehrmacht was appreciated and supported as the 'liberators of the Stalin yoke', but later the initial pleasure was followed by hate, which was carried out in a partisan warfare.
