Propaganda text of National Socialist report on the back of the picture:
"Assault guns enter Stalingrad, which appears to be deserted". Motive from Wolgograd on the 9th of October in 1942. The attack of the German Wehrmacht on the Soviet Union on the 22nd of June in 1941 was going under the alias "Operation Barbarossa". The Wehrmacht reached Stalingrad in autumn 1942, but the city could not be conquered completely.
