Dresden's Striezel Market has been held mostly on the Altmarkt since 1434 during Advent and attracts an average of around two million visitors a year. It is the oldest Christmas market in Germany, confirmed by a certificate. The name comes from the Christmas cookie Striezel, which is now known as Stollen, Dresden, Saxony, Germany
