The BAUMHAUS daycare centre in Dresden with its focus on nature education. However, the good transport links pose some complex challenges for the future schoolchildren. Through targeted exercises, role-playing games and joint walks with their teachers, the children can develop a feeling for safe behaviour on the streets. Once a year, community police officers teach the pre-school children the most important traffic rules in a playful way. The children are sensitised to assess dangers as independently and early as possible and to develop a certain mindfulness in road traffic. The official acceptance of the self-designed road markings in the outdoor area of the daycare centre by the Dresden police department, as well as the first driving manoeuvres in the area under the critical eyes of the police officers, was a great highlight for the children, Dresden, Saxony, Germany
