SUSKULT obtains the required resources carbon dioxide, phosphorus, potassium and nitrogen as well as heat and water from a sewage treatment plant, in this case the Emschermündung sewage treatment plant. Together with the Fraunhofer Institute UMSICHT, the Emschergenossenschaft is treading a completely new path. In future, wastewater treatment plants will be places of agricultural production
