Alfred Döblin, psychiatrist and writer, is considered an important Expressionist writer, portrait of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner 1912 His most famous work is 'Berlin Alexanderplatz. 'Due to his Jewish descent, Alfred Döblin was persecuted by the National Socialists and banned his works. He fled first to Switzerland, then to France. In 1936 he became a French citizen.
