Recklinghausen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany - Renaturalised Hellbach, renaturalised watercourse, the Hellbach is now free of wastewater after the construction of a parallel sewer, is part of the Emscher river system and thus part of the Emscher conversion, was previously an open, above-ground wastewater channel, mixed water channel with surface water and wastewater. The renaturalised Hellbach stream strengthens the city's climate resilience, promotes biodiversity and helps to mitigate urban warming caused by climate change
