Charging electric vehicles without cables at the Fraunhofer IVI. A new automatic charging system for electric commercial vehicles developed at the institute does not require a charging station and offers greater safety. The driver can start the entire recharging procedure at the simple press of a button - without having to leave the vehicle. This patented charging system will be trialled over the next few months in cooperation with Dresdner Stadtreinigung (SRD) in the daily operation of an electric truck, Dresden, Saxony, Germany
