In summer Pucón and the Villarrica volcano is one of the most popular destinations for Chileans as it is located directly at the big Villarrica lake, which is much warmer than the South Pacific with up to 22°C. In spring and autumn it is less crowded and especially for hikes and volcano ascents pleasant conditions prevail.
