The Jänschwalde power plant is a thermal power plant in the south-east of Brandenburg, which is mainly fired by lignite from the Jänschwalde and Welzow-Süd opencast mines in Lower Lusatia, as well as up to 400, 000 tonnes of waste per year. The power plant is operated by Lausitz Energie Kraftwerke AG
