The Plates from the Epitome of the De Humani Corporis Fabrica by Andreas Vesalius, (1514-1564) Plate 78 - The first of the figures we have prepared principally for showing the muscles. On the right side the muscles are hidden directly beneath the skin are observed from the anterior aspect, but on the left are evident those which immediately underlie the muscles of the right side when the latter have been cut away.
