Limestone panel from a frieze showing the legendary Iranian hero Kaykhusrau. Iran / late 18th century. The "Sasanian revival" was a result of a conscious effort on the part of the Quajar Shahs of Iran / especially Faith 'Ali Shah (ruled 1798-1834).
