Anne Boleyn (1501 or 1507-1536), second wife of Henry VIII, was accused of adultery, incest and high treason. On 2 May 1536 she was arrested and taken to the Tower of London, tried, found guilty and beheaded on 19 May. Mother of Queen Elizabeth I of England. Anne kneeling on the scaffold before the executioner holding an axe. In fact, she was executed with a sword. Engraving.
