David Stewart de Garth (1772-1829). Auteur et soldat écossais. Il intégra le 42e régiment des Highlanders en 1787, mais fut gravement blessé à la bataille d'Aboukir en 1801, où les Britanniques battirent les Français. Il fut nommé général de division en 1825. Il mourut alors qu'il occupait le poste de Gouverneur de Sainte Lucie. Il est l'auteur de "Sketches ...of the Highlanders of Scotland: with Details of the Military Service of the Highland Regiments" (1822).
