The Battle of Alma, 20 September 1854; George Brown (1790-1865) commander of the Light Division, having had his horse shot from under him, on his feet waving his sword shouting "23rd I am all right!". The Allies (Britain, France and Turkey) defeated the Russians. Engraving c1860.
