Jean Henri Dunant (1828-1910) Swiss philanthropist, 1902. Dunant inspired the foundation of International Red Cross after battle of Solferino (1859) and instigated the conference which formulated Geneva Convention (1864). In 1901 he shared the first Nobel prize for peace with the Frederic Passy the French economist and writer. Engraving.
