Fort Selwyn is seen on Gunfire Hill overlooking Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape of South Africa on Tuesday November 9, 2004. The fort was named after Captain (later major) Charles Jasper Selwyn of the Cape Corps of Royal Engineers. Captain Selwyn, who was responsible for the design and construction of the Fort, was stationed in the Eastern Cape from 1834 to 1842. (Photo by Christine Nesbitt)
