Indigenous flowers grow in a wetland at the top of the Drakensberg. The mountain range is an enormous water catchment area and feeds rivers that run into KwaZulu Natal, Lesotho, Eastern Cape and Free State. The Lesotho Highlands Water Project siphons off water from the range to feed the industrial heartland of South Africa - Johannesburg and Gauteng
