Also known as the Yellow adder's tonge, the Dog's-tooth violet and the Trout lily. They occur in habitats ranging from deciduous woodland to open mountain meadows in Europe, Asia and North America. They have six pointed solitary sulphur yellow flowers with recurved tepals.
