The El Escorial Conspiracy, 1807. Foiled conspiracy led by the Prince of Asturias, Ferdinand of Bourbon, to bring about the fall of Manuel Godoy and put Queen Maria Luisa of Parma under control. It was uncovered on 27 October 1807. Charles IV ordered the arrest of his son the following day (28 October), being confined to his room under Bodyguards surveillance.
