Magic Lantern slide circa 1900. Victorian or Edwardian era. The origional monchrome ( black and white ) photograph hand coloured.The photograph is the work of G.W. Wilson photographer and slide manufacturer 1823-1893.George Washington Wilson (7 February 1823 – 9 March 1893) was a pioneering Scottish photographer. The French Riviera and Monte Carlo (lecture ) . Slide 48, ST Devote's procession,La Condamine. The 26 January every year the Principality of Monaco celebrates their patron St. Devote where they burn a boat on the harbour, not far from the valley of Gaumates and the district of La Condamine. The next day, January 27 (day of the feast of Saint Devote), hosts an impressive procession.
