Magic lantern slide WW1, 1914-1918, World war one images. Secret or Mystery port . The Port of Richborough during the Great War. This was a highly secret government facility built to service the B.E.F with it's logistics including Ammunition, Tanks, Horses, Rations and Fuel etc... The River Stour was widened in some places and cuttings were made to form small port areas.Huge in size, it was used to service the whole British Army on the Western Front.
