The tomb of Darius I, The king's hand is raised in a gesture of worship. Above him is the winged disk of Ahuramazda, the god of Zoroastrian religion. This scene is supported by throne bearers representing the twenty eight nations of the empire. Darius was the first of the Achaemenid kings to choose Naqsh-i Rustam as a burial place. Ancient Persian/ Achaemenian. circa 549 - 486/485 BC. Naqsh-e Rostam.
