Cliff Palace Mesa Verde, One of the grandest of all cliff dwellings. It was the hub of a Colorado chiefdom 900 years ago. With over 200 rooms it housed over 400 people. There were 23 ceremonial chambers or kivas, which may be distinguished by their circular shape. USA. Basketmaker and Pueblo Indian. 12th c AD. Colorado.
