Beaten gold falcon head from the cult statue of the temple of Horus at Hierakonpolis, One of a number of ancient votive objects buried when the temple was restored during the New Kingdom. The head was attached to a body of beaten copper plaques. The double plumed headdress was added in the 18th dynasty. Egypt. Ancient Egyptian. 6th dynasty, c 2350 BC. Hierakonpolis.
