Two identical glass fragments decorated with a lapwing, These tiny fragments, possibly inlays from shrines and furniture, were made from polychrome glass canes laid side by side to create a picture. The rods were fused,left to cool, stretched to miniaturise, then sliced to form each piece. Egypt. Ancient Egyptian. 3rd 1st C BC. Graeco Roman period. Alexandria.
