Colossal statue of Akhenaten standing with arms folded holding the flail and heka scepters, The lack of genitalia is thought to be a reflection of the belief that the pahraoh was the primordial god, both a mother and father to people. The statue was erected at Karnak at the temple courtyard build by Akhenaten, next to the temple of Amun Ra. Egypt. Ancient Egyptian. pre Amarna period, 18th Dynasty, New Kingdom, c 1365 BC.
