All streetlamps in Central Park (created by the architect Harry Bacon) have a unique number on their post, which allows you to find your way around this huge New York park. The first numbers indicate the number of the nearest street, while the following ones indicate if you are closer to the East Side or to the West Side (even numbers for the East, and odd numbers for the West).
