Paul Follot (1877 - 1941)
Single-leg piano veneered in amboyna burl. It rests on a fluted column base with a tiered aluminum Studal plinth. The case is accented with double inlaid pewter lines and a wide tiered nickel-plated aluminum molding.
Modernist-inspired pedalboard with two square-section nickel-plated aluminum supports.

According to Maison Pleyel, only three examples of this model were ever produced, each with slight variations. It was exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs in 1936, then at the International Exhibition of Arts and Techniques in Modern Life in Paris in 1937. In the same year, it was also intended for the first-class performance hall of the ocean liner Normandie, launched in 1935.
