Paul Follot (1877 - 1941)
Low armchairs in gilded wood with gold leaf and black lacquer.
The wide enveloping backrest, padded armrests, and arm supports are carved with motifs of cord, passementerie, and rosebuds with foliage. The broad seat is highlighted by a belt sculpted with scales and rows of pearls. The front legs are fluted and trumpet-shaped, adorned with sculpted fruits in semi-relief. The backrest, seat, and padded armrests are upholstered in a fabric featuring bouquets of wine-colored pink flowers on a slate-gray background.
