Charles Émile Lévy Waldteufel, known by the name of Émile Waldteufel (1837-1915). French composer. Popularized at balls and appreciated by Empress Eugenie, in 1865 he became director of the dance orechestra of Napoleon III's imperial court and court pianist of the Empress. Once discovered by Edward VII, he also played at the balls of Queen Victoria, and was played by others around the world.
