Hans Christian Oersted (1777–1851). Danish physicist and chemist influenced by German thought(Emmanuel Kant, Philosophy of Nature). He discovered the relationship between electricity and magnetism in 1820. Using these results, Ampère developped the theory that would allow the founding of electromagnetism. Produced aluminium for the first time, in 1825.
