Maximilian I of Habsburg (1459-1519). Holy Roman Emperor from 1508 until his death. Son of Emperor Frederick III and Eleanore of Portugal, he married the heiress of Burgundy, Mary, daughter of Charles the Bold. Responsible for the creation of the Imperial Diet of Worms, which imposed a public peace treaty in 1495. He is the father of Charles Quint.
