Catherine Parr (1508 – 1548), was the sixth wife of Henry the Eighth, who was her third husband. She was educated, spiritual, well versed in the study of theological argument, and she used all her influence in the service of the Protestants. She was widowed in 1547, and was later remarried to Sir Thomas Seymour.
