Second manned flight, first flight using hydroden balloon
Experiment carried out in the Tuileries garden by Charles and Robert on 1st December 1783.
The Taffeta aerostat stretched 26ft in diameter, filled with flammable air. In the presence of a crowd of around four hundred thousand, Charles and !robert took off from the jardins des Tuileries at forty minutes past one. The aerostat rose majestically as the crowd applauded.
