The superior part is surrounded by fleurs-de-lys; below the 12 signs of the zodiac.
In the middle, the King's numbers in between suns.
The lower part is filled with Mascarons and Guirlandes; several eagles with their wings spread, which appear to be supporting the powerful machine in the air.
All of these designs are gold in colour on a fine background, making this superb balloon appear gold and blue.
The circular gallery where Mr le Marquis d'ARLANDES and Mr PILATRE DE ROZIER can be seen were painted on cloth crimson cloth with gold fringing.
