Invited to Lyon and named by the town's academy, Josephe -Michel Montgolfier found himself in the Gaul capital. Jacques de Flesselles, an administrative intendant of the area set up a fund.
Thanks to the vital participation of the Prince of Ligne, the duke of Ursel, the marquis of Saint-Vincent, the count of Laurencin and numerous other contributors who wished to see their name written on the list of supporters, the manufacturing costs of a new balloon were quickly covered. It would be a real masterpiece.
