France. Frejus. The pagoda Hong Hien Tu, located near the Indochina War Memorial; bears witness to the memory of franco-vietnamese history. Oldest pagoda in Europe and France, it was finally erected in 1917 following repeted requests from asian colonial troops since 1915 who wanted a place conducive to maintaining a connection with their culture.
