The cinema room installed in the basement during the time of General Nguyen Van Thieu, before the communist victory, when this place was called the Independence Palace, a building constructed on the site of the former Norodom Palace based on the plans of the architect Ngo Viet Thu, the first Vietnamese winner of the Prix de Rome.
