The Jeep used by the southern general Nguyen Van Thieu when this place was still called, before the defeat against the communist forces, the Independence Palace, a building constructed on the site of the former Norodom Palace on the plans of the architect Ngo Viet Thu, the first Vietnamese winner of the Prix de Rome.
